Travel information

The Las Palmas Gran Canaria airport (LPA) is considered one of the safest airports in the world, being the largest airport of the Canary Islands in passenger and cargo traffic, the sixth in Spain in 2017, with more than 13 Million passengers. LPA is located just 19 km from the center of the capital, operating 24 hours per day with 60 airlines and has 2 terminals, the first one, Terminal A, operates flights from Spain and the EU, and the second one, Terminal BC, operates non-EU flights.

As there are no trains in the island, the airport is reachable by bus or taxi. The taxi offer a comfortable way to travel to and from the airport of Gran Canaria. A ride from the airport to the conference venue, located not far from Parque Santa Catalina, costs approximately 30-35€. Route 60 offers a fast bus connection between Las Palmas de Gran Canaria and Gran Canaria Airport, running twice per hour from 5am to 10pm, providing an economical and effective alternative. The ticket price is 2.95€.

In the city yellow buses or taxis may serve to connect the historical center with the area of Las Canteras beach. A taxi ride costs around 5-6€, while a single bus ticket costs 1.40€, paid to the bus driver. For the latter it is possible to buy ten tickets in advance, e.g. in Santa Catalina station, reducing the single cost to 0.85€.
